Back to Ljubljana

Our day for leaving the beautiful chalet and heading back to Ljubljana for one night in the same hotel (which we really like).

First though, S headed back to the paddleboard hire place at Lake Bled and I sat and relaxed in the Terrace with a cuppa and packed our rucksacks. As there were no guests arriving today Herman and Imseley said we didn’t have to rush off. S loved his paddle on Bled and we both sat a wee while before heading off in the car. We stopped off and had a walk in a sleepy town on the way to Ljubljana. When we were looking out at a viewpoint I saw a young lad on a bike which was rammed with stuff including a small guitar and a sign saying from Denmark. So I said to him that he’d come a long way and we had a great chat with him hearing his travelling stories about busking and the journey through the countries to get here. He was so laid back and friendly. His plan for the summer is to leave his bike somewhere , fly back to Denmark and work there for the summer and then come back and get his bike and make his way to India. Amazing. We bid him farewell and wished him luck.

It was late afternoon so we drove the half hour to Ljubljana and checked into the hotel. We are in a different room than last week it has three beds and bigger but no balcony .

When I was in that sleepy town I felt something on my shoulder and lo and behold it was a bloody tick!! We had no tool so after arriving in Ljubljana we walked to the pharmacy to get one and then back to hotel to get it out and wiped with antiseptic. It was small I think it just happened that morning.

We had a walk round the centre of Ljubljana. It was very vibrant such a buzz about the place with the riverside Cafes and restaurants all with people sitting enjoying food and sunshine and listening to buskers in certain areas.

We went for a meal and then another walk but again tired so was sleeping by 10:15.

Holiday almost over seems like we’ve been away for ages three more days to go.
