Susanna's

By Susanna

On Friday, it will be 4 weeks since my knee replacement surgery. Do not act like me!?!

It is such a difficult time to recover when the garden is screaming for things that have not been done.

So I accidentally found myself in the flower bed with long scissors in one hand and a crutch in the other. There I was scissoring an almost three-meter climbing rose that had frozen over in the winter. Balancing on a few stepping stones of the flower bed.
But it was done. Slowly. Judiciously. The whole day passed when I took a break and played with the plant, like in a slow motion movie. Dodging rose thorns the size of a raven's claw. Lunch and rest in between. Jump and ice on your feet in between. Break with coffee too in between - and off we go again. Miraculously, the job was done with not a single hole in the skin or clothes.

5000 steps a day. Yes, it was too much, but now the rose is ready for summer in the parts that were left over from winter. I got a couple of cuttings.

A great, restless night of spinning followed, my knee was stiff... my knee named Lauha (Mild) told me what she thought of the day. Sore it was for sure.

+27 outdoors.
Sunny
Heavenly great summerish day!
