An Extremely Wet Day

Len woke up feeling extremely sweaty, he didn't tell me he had a headache, that came later. I told him to go and see a doctor. Amazingly, he phoned the surgery but of course, when he finally got through on the phone, he was told that no more appointments were available that day. I told him to go to the Walk-In Centre in Loughborough. We all bundled in the car and drove there. He was seen and detained. I think that was about midday.

Time dragged on and it began to rain heavily, which was when I took this photo through the car window. Well, I had to take something for today's blip.

He was given a letter and told to go to Leicester Royal Infirmary. I said I badly needed to go to the bathroom and drove home. That was another thing, he'd been told not to drive.

Our son George, bless his cotton socks, drove from Leicester to pick up Len and take him to A&E, releasing me for the evening. They were there until after 10 pm waiting for the results of a dimer test. Fortunately Len was able to stay on a camp bed at George's in Leicester overnight. I had to drive in by 8 am to collect him and take him back to LRI.

Meanwhile, I took advantage of my liberty to take myself and Basil to Livio's  for my promised Italian meal and extras. The restaurant was quiet but had been set up for a birthday meal the following night. A lot of guests evidently expected.

More tomorrow.
