The accidental finding

A day of three halves *

I went round to S's in the morning, and helped him.sort out his bedroom (yesterday Steve and I took him up to the furniture bank to arrange for someone to come and assemble his bed for him. It's missing a bolt, but it's solid and good to sleep in now ).to accommodate his new furniture. We talked about many things, including the definition of grieving, and the difference between being stalked and being hit on. Life's never dull with him.

I left at 12 and went down to the bus station to meet friend D. Today was the second day of the Stroud food festival, and the weather was glorious. The plan was to wander around the stalls which were spread around town, with tables and chairs for seating, and possibly attend some cookery demos.

However, D had already eaten something in Cheltenham, and seemed even less able to cope with walking than ever. He kept needing to stop/sit down/rest, and seemed uncomfortable with the idea of eating outside, even though there was seating. I do remember eating chips outside with him in Lincoln, so this is a new development. We hobbled around town, with him not wanting to eat anything, until right at the end, when we were in a sit down cafe, and he ordered a toastie, who h he then didn't have time to eat, so we had to put it in a takeaway box. He'd also bought a type of Italian rissole, a jar of butter beans and some cheese to take home.

How I got him to the bus station, across the road and on to the 4.30 bus I don't know. At one point I seriously considered calling the paramedics because he was so breathless and barely able to move. Later he messaged me to say he'd got home safely. Thank Goodness!

After a rest in the cabin at home, I went out again to St Laurence's centre for a concert. Brother of the more famous Mike Oldfield, Terry Oldfield and his partner Soraya were playing. Unfortunately, because of the festival, there was also live music in Bank Gardens in direct competition with our gig. I did enjoy it, but I enjoyed my evening of Terry and Sprays on Spotify at home the other night even more!

Now I'm home again, and tired. I need a bit of chillin' on my own.

* I know, I know, but this day has been as long as a day and a half.
