Living my dream

By Mima

Legs akimbo...

...and a much more relaxed dog than yesterday.

Although it's not got above 9C outside, this is MUCH more to her majesty's liking. The abandoned stance is a sign that she was actually slightly too hot.

I have occupied myself indoors all day: making a big batch of soup for the week; and then Bean and I went into the study with the potbelly blasting out heat where I created another huge patchwork cushion cover. This one is for a family birthday gift and is designed to fit a folded double duvet. I find them the best cushion-stuffing.

The rain stopped mid-morning and amounted to 8mm. Although I hate cloudy days, at least the overcast conditions we're due to have for the next couple of days will mean that the soil moisture doesn't evaporate.

Somehow I have aggravated the proximal hamstring tendinopathy in my left leg / buttock, which flares up every year or so. Regular pain killers and careful exercise are needed.

Thank goodness I'm ahead of myself in the garden. I'll have two or three days off any digging, lifting, and other strenuous work.
