Beginners Ballet- for the over 60’s

Who said you are too old to dance? This morning dance artist Emily Tucker at the Macrobert arts centre put our group of older dancers through Beginners Ballet.

She took it at such a gentle and structured pace that even I could keep up and what’s more at the end of the lesson we surprised ourselves by doing some quiet elaborate routines.

Afterwards a Glasgow composer researching a new piece asked us about what music meant to us at ages 10,20, 30 and 40 in a special “taster session”.

It got us digging back into our memories. He arrived with a box of vinyl records and asked us to choose something from our childhood.
With great confidence I assured him he would have nothing there that I would have known as a 10 year old. He didn’t believe me. I searched through his box and I was right.

There were no Welsh hymns!
