Front Row Seats

Today was full-on in a good way.

First thing in the morning, we were up and out of the door to a house demolition sale. Basically, when people are going to demolish and rebuild a house (which happens pretty regularly here), they sell of everything in the house, down to the light switches and floorboards.

We'd managed to get our hands on a couple of built-in wardrobes, so my morning and most of the afternoon was spent taking them apart (including a lot of the walls), loading them into the car and finding a dry space for them at our place until I find some time to fit them into our bedrooms (note: currently this will be when I retire).

Anyway, on the second load, I was around when the owners came through and they told me that it was the house that Cate Blanchett grew up in (confirmed later by the neighbour who's lived there for 50 years). So we now have the wardrobes from Cate Blanchett's childhood house. Completely pointless information, but it's fun to know the history of a place!

Then it was off to the Union of a Shivering Timbers gig. We played well and there was the added bonus that Gina and Miles were both there. Miles was a bit of a handful, so it wasn't a very relaxing afternoon for Gina, but she said that she enjoyed it mostly anyway.

Miles ran around enough to have covered the ground of a marathon! He'd not been to a gig since he was about 8 months old, so it was good for him to see Dad up on the stage.
