My Dad's Grapevine

These grapes are not very special to the horticultural world. There
are many more luscious kinds. However, these were found on the
homestead. My Dad, no longer alive, planned to make wine with
these grapes. When I found the vine, it was a small "slip"struggling to
survive amongst an over-powering plot of weedy quack grass on
the homestead.

It now thrives on a walk-through arbor. I have made grape
jam from its produce, but mainly the vine is intact through
the seasons with its produce feeding the birds and squirrels.
I am surprised they don't eat more; my granddaughter loves
to eat them!
