Stormy paradise

I've come to the wonderful island of Madeira for the week and landing was a bit scary.

They extended the runway a few years ago and it is now so much safer, but the winds this morning were memories of times past !!!

My sister in law was nearly blown off a levada walk this morning and they greeted me with comments about the storms. Our great taxi driver had said something very similar - climate change etc ?

I couldn't wait to get on to the balcony with the camera to capture it for blip. If you look carefully, there's a rather overwhelmed seagull just to the right of centre.

It's spectacular and beautiful - but it will not be if it continues for a full week, I suspect......
