Opening of new park

Back to chilly Scotland and the opening of the long awaited refurbished Provost Park this afternoon in Bridge of Allan.

Local historian Malcolm Allan talked about the history of the site, how it once was the place for a church.
For years the area has been neglected, noted only for its public toilets.
But today saw it transformed into an attractive focal point and a large number of families turned out to celebrate with their children and dogs.

Afterwards tea and cakes were served in the parish church hall.
The refurbishment was undertaken by Bridge of Allan community council under the chairmanship of Gavin Drummond who project managed the whole operation.
