Saying it with flowers

One of the busiest routes in town passes by just yards away. To the left is a big puncture repair company. Across the road a Royal Mail sorting office.

So I would like to raise a glass (because I could do with one) to the owner of this flat. Unlike anyone else around, he/she has taken the trouble to make life a little brighter for the passer by.

When I first went to Austria, I remember the visual impact of the flowers that adorned almost every house. We don't do it so much here - and yet it does raise the spirits!

Hassly day a bit - like a lot just now. When a contract electrician finds some encapsulated (and therefore safe) asbestos in the basement in the middle of a big rush to meet an important deadline in the building - and then everything grinds to a halt while we wait for an asbestos assessment - and I am simultaneously trying to take time out to help proof #3 daughter's Master's dissertation, and the usual 3 dozen other things are going on....

However, a lovely compliment from a friend brought a happy smile to the face - and a draft of a story to be released from the Press Office also being complimentary - raises the day. (Seems I'm a successful networker, it says! But that's today speak - in the past it just mainly meant liking people I think! :-) )
