The Kiltwalk

Introducing the face Granny's Just Love

He's young, he's good looking, he's got a cheeky smile, old ladies love him, babies don't cry when they see him, people would vote for him and as if that isn't enough, he's got hair!! So Ladies and Gentlemen let me introduce you to the one and only . . . . Mr John Deans.

John, as you can probably tell is one of the Kiltwalk Gang and decided to take the "mountain to Mohammed", or in this case, the "Kiltwalk Road Show to the Royal Bank of Scotland, Gogarburn", where John 'works' and we use that word advisedly. So after such a buildup, who wouldn't stop by and find out what The Kiltwalk is all about?

So with a few odd looks and curious faces John set up The Kiltwalk stand and we were keen to find out how his day went and here's what he had to say.

"It was a good day, where we raised lots of awareness and had loads of great conversations with people who were very interested and excited about the event. Unfortunately I never recruited any victims, I mean walkers, but we distributed more than 100 flyers and have a note of over 20 people who seem very keen on doing the main walk, so I'll be following them up. When you also consider that The Kiltwalk stand was seen by over 1,000 people on their way to work, therefore raising our profile then I think it was a good day all round".

Well with those sort of figures John, we would have to agree with you.

This weekend the road show moves to a new venue and perhaps we should copy Real Radio and have "The Real Kiltwalk Renegade" where we tell you when we're pitching up and there's a prize for the person who finds us, but then again we might never be found and there's still lots to organise, so scrap that idea.

So on Sunday Carey, Jenny and Ian will be pitching up in their Kilts at Loch Lomond Shores so we should be easy enough to spot and if you're in the area, come along and give us a shout as we're quite friendly, even if some of us will perhaps look a bit grumpy being up early on a Sunday!!
