The Kiltwalk

Above and Beyond the Call of Duty

So as I take it easy on the very warm island of Tenerife, preparation for The KiltWalk continues and for a young lady, with friends to see and wine to share, dedication to the KiltWalk task is sometimes "above and beyond the call of duty".

However it's a task than is done with the overall objective clearly in mind, so let's hear a big KiltWalk round of appreciation for "oor Mandy", who along with Jenny, is facilitating the Wee KiltWalk, which is taking place on Sunday 8th April.

With 3 weeks to go, there's still a multitude of things to arrange and marking out The Wee Walk route is one of them.

So it was a 07:00 start for Mandy on Sunday morning, which lets you understand how curtailed Mandy's Saturday evening was.

The one thing that was in Mandy's favour is that Sunday was a glorious day, which made getting up early and addressing the task in hand, a little more palletable.

Mandy seems to be well on top of The Wee KiltWalk, which is music to Carey's ears as when she walked the route with him a fortnight ago, she did get lost, but that was clearly put down to 'teething' problems.

Mandy dropped me this email to say "It was a beautiful day up at Loch Lomond today and was the first time I was able to take in some of the great scenery, as you can see from today's blipfoto picture. It really is a lovely walk. It can get a wee bit muddy in some bits though so let's hope the sun shines on us all on the day. Look forward to seeing you all there."

So it's a thanks from me to Mandy for sorting out today's picture which I hope you all enjoy and I'll leave you all with a wee secret.

Mandy is actually a physio, so if you have any aches or pains on KiltWalk day, make sure you look her up and I'm sure she will rub those pains away, for a small KiltWalk donation that is :-)
