Douglas moods, day and night

Got up a bit earlier than expected and down to Fabulous hotel breakfast. Straight out then along back to the pier and tourist information. We collected out multi travel card and the lady guided us to what days which trains were running! That established plan for the day and the rest of our stay , pretty much!
Walked past the harbour to the steam train station- such a cute train and lovely engine. Great open old carriages, which we shared with some of a walking group. Great fun characters and very friendly. We went to the last stop- port Erin. We checked the way to walk back to port St Mary, then went for a look around, lovely semicircular sandy bay. Manx ice cream stop, then walk to port St Mary's. Gorgeous sunny day! This little town had wonderful strata rocks on the beach , pebbly beaches are my favourites. Good for posing fizzy vic on.then hopped on local bus to Castletown, with castle rushen. Ate sandwich in the square watching workmen move benches! Then climbed up and down stairs, to the top of the watch tower in the castle, which was amazingly well preserved! Hopped back on the local bus after witnessing some amazing parking, back to Douglas. Bit of a wander through the town and hunted out a real ale pub for local brew. Back to the hotel for quick freshen up before good dinner.
The driver asked about our day, and was encouraging us to go on his trip tomorrow, We tried to explain we are stubborn miles who like to do our own thing, and really don't want to cause offence...........he then went on to suggest Douglas head for great view across bay and lights, and explained how to get there. So outdoor gear back on and off we set off, quite a few steps later, fabulous views and close to the camera obscura.got some good shots, before wandering back to warm up and rest.
