Cherries from Chile

Occasionally we treat ourselves to a packet of cherries.

But I shudder to think of the global footprint of transporting this luxury food item 7,500 miles away from Chile.

Not surprisingly environmentalists insist its plain madness in a time of global warming.

Which supermarket though will be brave enough to pull the plug on such items?

We are quick to pick up these luxury items but the trick if we are sincere about cutting down on global warming is to eat food only when it is in season and home-grown grown.

Thanks to Laurie54 for this weeks monmonday challenge, something to rhyme with quick.
