Wound up in Wexford

By Neatwithice

Flesh fly

Posh name - Sarcophaga carnaria

When I looked it up, I discovered that it's a commonly seen fly - but when I saw it on the rushes in our bog area, I was impressed with the black and white stripes and chequerboard pattern.  And the bright red eyes.  And once I got the photo up on the screen, I was also impressed with the plate like feet.
