Wound up in Wexford

Greater mullein

Not strictly an uninvited guest, in as much as I bought one plant, a couple of years ago, in the hope that it would spread seed.  It is a biennial - so there would have been rosettes of leaves, but no flowers last year.  So I suppose this one is an offspring of that plant, but it is some considerable distance away from the original, and not where it is "supposed to be".  This one has developed right up against the boundary hedge - perhaps there were other seedlings that fell victim to the lawnmower?

I've only photographed the top of it - it is quite an impressive plant - over a metre tall.  It is certainly very welcome, and I hope it successfully spreads some seeds around.
