Morar; the Loch and the River have acouple of claims to fame.

Deeper than Loch Lomond or Loch Ness, Loch Morar is the deepest Loch in Scotland. Its surface is just a handful of feet above sea level and it drains to the sea via the River Morar. The River Morar I believe is the shortest river in Scotland with its water reaching the tidal swept shore line at Kinsadel Bay in about half a mile.

The mountains around here are very rough and challenging but lack the 3000 feet threshold to attarct Munro bagging traffic. Climbing the slopes to the north affords breath taking views towards Skye, Knoydart and the big mountains at Glenfinnan and the west end of Loch Arkaig.

Anyway, we were working on the north side of Loch Morar today. Actual air temperature was meaningless in the savage bitter wind. It felt really cold.

Our activity was disruped by the unexpected arrival of cattle on our site and I had to hastily dismantle the GPS base station and reset it up the hill side on the other side of a fence. This (mid shift shift if you like) is technically very unsatisfactory for a number of reasons but I'm sure some people would like to remain awake.

Its been a long week and got off to a bad start. Friday night says wine time.
