Powerful Piskies

Never let it be said that I’m unprepared for a power cut… last night’s storm had most of the town out for a few hours, but work life prevailed. Out came the refreshed emergency box, a check on and distribution of candles, LED mini torches and wind up torch radios to elderly neighbours, switched on previously charged iPad with a few films downloaded and relaxed illumination from some captured fireflies in a bottle.

Almost a shame when power was returned, but great service including comms from power network provider SSEN and brilliant, accurate forecasting from the MetOffice.

(Got yesterday’s and today’s dates mixed up but too much bother to correct!)
