Pretty in Pink

How does my garden grow? Like never before now that the weeds have been reduced and the plants can breathe! The lilies are having a great time out there..Being able to see the light of day at last, they are flourishing...and have actually had the spotlight up until now...but they now have some competition! A little pink thrown into the mix!

I now have another challenge for E, my very talented neighbour, now gardener.  I finally had to cut down the bleeding hearts..they have been amazing this year - and filled great chunks of the garden with lovely green foliage long after the flowers had died off.. but alas, all good things must come to an end and they were looking pretty bedraggled and turning yellow..so..out they went! The same thing is now starting to happen with the ferns..soon they will be brown and about to meet their demise...so what will be left when they are all gone? Great empty patches of nothingness!

So..for the moment, E is busy potting up some annuals to set in some of the empty spaces temporarily and also to think long term about what would grow along with those aggressive ferns and bleeding hearts and then be capable of taking over from them later...hmmm...E is a retired physicist and research scientist with many published papers under his belt, so I assume he will be able to solve this wee problem...?

Of course, I spent my entire evening last night watching the January 6 hearing and follow-up commentary so this is a back-blip!
