The Princess and the Dog

Dear O'H dear & Lovely Tea Jenny,

The Youngest Mini Princess went back to Glasgow today so she can study for her exams after Easter. It has been lovely having her home and listening to her merrily singing “Shut your…”.

My friend Rod had a leaving night tonight as he has finished up his contact in Edinburgh and will be back in Ireland permanently. I haven’t seen Rod for ages and he was on great form. Dodzilla and Stevie were also there which was great as there were people I know to mitigate the stranger danger!

As the night whittled down to the last 5 of us, (a very squiffy) Rod became quite sentimental and told us how much he loved us and how glad he was that he’d met us since coming to Edinburgh.

It’s been a while, but working with Rod and Dodzilla was one of the funniest times of my working life and I miss that kind of camaraderie. They are both so brilliantly childish. Never has an attempt at a professional veneer been more at risk of corpsing than in a meeting with those eejits!

When the pub closed at 11, Rod was determined to continue the night back at his flat but we all did a sharp exit. He had already insisted on a few toasts with black sambuccas which was not unrelated to his diminished ability to speak!
