I am continuing with photos from yesterday’s visit to Lyttelton and Diamond Harbour.

Lyttelton is located on the northern most tip of Banks Peninsular. It is a historic port town, about twenty minutes from Christchurch - NZ.

Diamond Harbour is a small settlement on Banks Peninsular, situated on the south side of Lyttelton Harbour. It can be reached by car or a ten minute journey by ferry from the port of Lyttelton. The ferry service has operated since 1888.


The main photo shows a ship in the process of being loaded with logs.

The extra photos show the lighthouse at the entrance to the port, cargo ships in port and two street scenes.
Many buildings were destroyed in the 2010/2011 earthquakes and vacant sections are evident in the business/shopping area.


This evening I have added two extra collages of Diamond Harbour and Stoddart Cottage to yesterday's blip.
