Mrs P

Turned out that today was better weather than I’d anticipated (warm with hazy sunshine) so I changed my plans as I’d earmarked a couple of art exhibitions I’d like to see. However a floor lamp that Mr P and I bought for the flat stopped working last night, so I decided to return it to the Corte Ingles (Spanish John Lewis) in the morning. I took it apart (took me ages) lugged it to the store and did my whole spiel to a guy in the lighting dept. Who promptly put it together again and it worked right away! He did say something about whoever had put it together had twisted one of the wires. J’accuse Mr P. I was mortified and worse still I didn’t want to take it apart again so walked home with it intact. Needless to say there were lots of pithy comments and stares along the way. I’ll be forever known in Valencia as the lady with the lamp!
I packed a picnic and walked to the Botanics to restore my equilibrium. It’s an oasis of tranquility in the heart of the city. I’m blipping early as I’ve booked a concert tonight (Berlioz by Valencia’s orchestra) in the Palau de la Musica. The last time we booked an event there it was cancelled but all looking good for this evening. I’ll catch up on journals tomorrow morning.
