Wound up in Wexford

By Neatwithice

A long day's work

Well, we have a pond.  The final photo is in extras.  It's not quite how we envisioned it, but we hope it will soften once it has water and plants in and around.  In the end, we have stopped trying to influence our landscaper and just let him get on with it - the important thing to us was to get water in the garden as soon as possible.

He hasn't worked with bentonite before, and took a "belt and braces" approach - bentonite carpet first, then a layer of soil, then a thick layer of bentonite dust (which should harden into a watertight lining) followed by another layer of soil.  Fingers crossed for a leak proof pond!

It took all day - fortunately, apart from a short shower in the morning, before they had started, the rain held off.
