In the foreground is the Aquatic park where people can brave the cold water to swim within a section marked by buoys and beyond is the three masted Balclutha which was built in 1886 in Glasgow.. 26 men were needed to sail the ship with its complex rigging and 25 sails and travelled between Europe and the Pacific carrying cargo, passing the Cape of Good Hope seventeen times.  It is now in the San Francisco maritime museum.  Beyond is the infamous Alcatraz Island Prison which is now an interesting, but chilling, tourist attraction.
