Sitting on a Ladybird Bench

Though dull at first, the weather brightened up quickly and we had yet another warm day.

Len, Basil and I went to Loughborough to change some Euros and to buy fish because we have to go to Leicester tomorrow morning. So no Shepshed Market for us.

Older people may well remember the Ladybird books that were around when we were young, almost the only relatively inexpensive books for youngsters that existed then. Ladybird was based in Loughborough. Charnwood Borough Council commissioned a series of benches fashioned and painted like the books. They're scattered in the marketplace and Queen's Park.

Having just bought some garlic, I spotted this chap sitting on one of the benches outside the bank.

We bumped into Daz who had nipped out for smoke from the Head Gardener's salon, the first time I had seen him since 2022 and told him the tale of my trauma. He said he and Ros were fine. We also ran into Margaret in the Carillon Centre who I haven't seen in years although she likes a lot of my Facebook posts.
