After a night out on the town yesterday evening and a joust with culture  in the form of Macbeth at the Picky cinema in Kirkwall where I watched the film of a live  theatre performance of the play, it was back to inane normality today starting with the 8am dook in the briny. The sun shone again and the sea was calm making it the perfect morning for swimming. There was a little frolicking in the water after the swim and a handstand or two were executed by two of us.

The rest of the day is a blur of walking between the library and the Coop , reading the weekly Orcadian in the sun in the garden , reading my Book Group book which was requested by me from the library, a little knitting  and general idleness - oh to be in Orkney now that summer is here!

The sun came and went a bit at lunch time but reappeared for the Edinburgh visiting Selkie and I to execute  the day’s  double dip. It is so wonderful to be able to do this when it is so difficult at home in Edinburgh to get to the sea at all.  Happy Days!
