A sunny morning
for a quilt show and a good
visit with a friend

~carliewired

I was up enjoying my granola at 6:30 but my blipping didn't start until 10 when the quilt show opened. I'd arranged to meet my friend J at the Catholic church hall on the north shore. It was a beautiful sunny morning in spite of the forecast of cloudy weather.

Our local quilt guild have today and tomorrow to exhibit their lovely work. Besides the individual quilts produced by guild members, many quilts displayed had a special purpose. This guild has always been very generous in its contributions to the local community. For many years lap quilts have been given to people undergoing cancer treatments in our hospital. Also, a large collection of quilts have been made to supply those in social housing. It was wonderful to see these quilts ready for recipients.

J and I took our time walking through the show, had a break for refreshments half way, then finished our viewing. Our last stop was the vendors but I resisted and didn't buy a single thing!

I was home for lunch and will resume work on the paper spread out on the table. I'm hoping it is a quiet day.
