No sunshine to rouse
me from my slumber today...
It is a grey day

I arrived on the north side of McArthur Island Park at 6:30 AM. I had the car radio on listening to world news and it was not uplifting. I was happy to get out for a bit of a walk with my camera by the foot bridge.

The slough is looking muddy and very unappealing. Not many birds in and around it. They must feel the same as I do about the quality of water.

I caught a marmot and a Canada goose along the perimeter of the slough. Looking into the slough from the foot bridge, I was delighted to find a little group of wood ducks. They are so beautiful in their colouring!

I took a walk across the bridge to see my mountains beyond the slough.

As the weather continues to warm, spring runoff will begin to replenish the slough. Hopefully, this will bring the water fowl back in greater numbers. For now, I'm afraid I won't be seeing many ducklings or goslings in the park this spring.

I'm in for the day, with company coming for lunch. I will have to get my apron on soon.
