A lack of zenergy

After a few miles pedalling to theirs, Mum, Dad and I had a little mini-day out.  I had to visit the motorbike shop again for more oil, which we followed with the garden centre for an early lunch.  Soup and a bit of baguette and hot chocolate was just right.

Despite loads of sleep last night (according to my Garmin anyway) I still felt shattered and bummed out, and later pottered home, going a slightly longer way to get something for tea.

After food it was back into the garage to dismantle fork no.2, wash everything and see how it looked.  The oil that came out was just as manky as the first one and frankly, it's obvious why it was leaking: the chrome is badly pitted right where the oil seal is.  Someone'd had a go at the thing before because the chrome was also full of nasty circular scratches.  I was more or less able to polish those out using lots of compound and elbow grease, but the rusted pitting will need treating, filling with epoxy and sanding.  By then I was just too tired and too fed up, not least in trying to fix the previous owners' nonsense and went inside.  Tomorrow is another day.
