I Witness

Blipmeets are ...

... fabulous!

Wow!  What a fantastic day I (we) have had!  Not only did we have a wonderful blipmeet with several Northumberland blippers but it is also Richard and my 40th wedding anniversary!  And I couldn't have chosen a better group of blippers to spend it with! And of course I can't forget Richard!

We had arranged to meet up at Hauxley Nature Reserve at 10:30 this morning.  R and I were a little late so everyone was there when we arrived. But once we were all together the fun began.  The second Extra is a shot of our group that I enlisted a lovely lady (Sarah) into taking for me.  Shown left to right are DollyDoug, ShyGirl, davidc, carol_dunham, Roy (husband of 60plus), Sheila (wife of davidc), yours truly and Richard. Since Sarah took the picture it didn't feel right that I post that as my main.  For that I went with this gorgeous ring-necked pheasant that we saw during our walk along the trail.   Better viewed full screen.

We had a lovely walk around Hauxley Reserve followed by lunch at the cafe ... talking the entire time!  This is what I love about blipmeets ... you meet the most wonderful people but it's like you've known them your entire life.  Simply fab.

My first Extra is another friend I met along the way ... a beautiful horse.  He even let me rub his nose a few times.

After we disbanded and went our separate ways Richard and I briefly stopped along the coast of the North Sea and the proceeded to Alnwick for our celebratory anniversary date at The Dirty Bottles restaurant.  It was delicious and we certainly got lots of food ... enough to bring some back to our cottage to enjoy on another day.  I was tasked by davidc to find out about the name Dirty Bottles.  Legend has it that in 1725 the landlord that was handling some bottles dropped dead after touching them. His wife proclaimed them cursed and they have remained locked between two windows ever since for the protection of all who pass by.  So that's that!

I want to thank all the lovely blippers who made this special 40th wedding anniversary even more special.  And a special shout out to J4net who was supposed to join us but is rather under the weather at the moment and couldn't come.  She was missed.
