twinned with trumpton

By MrFT

Despite the late bed time,I heard the phone ping with Antipodean updates at 7 and what the hey, I'd better get the dog outside.

But the morning stalled there, and apart from a washing, a cooked breakfast and collecting the dog's crate, suddenly it was lunchtime and time for the latest biggest game of the season. So far.
Gathering the boys, team news was on the M9 near the Kelpies; not usual 8th tee at Glenbervie.... and duly we arrived for Stirling v Annan. Winner avoids the play off is whats at stake. The draw favours Annan who have a better goal difference.

Stirling allow dog's in the ground (if you know who to ask) and at 1455 I was ushered in through the side door and asked to sit in a quiet  corner (not easy amongst a 1600 strong crowd)

The boys sat with Swanny,  I had the pleasure of Topher Nairn's company.

4 minutes in we got the start we dreaded. Annan poked the ball into our net...feck!

We then battered Annan for 85 minutes, but at the end of it, we could only manage an equaliser. Not even the delight of top Tory wanker Dross running the line could lift the spirits. If only Falkirk hadn't conceded a 90th minute equaliser last week.... etc

Still we'd given a decent account of ourselves, couldn't have given any more (apart from scoring a couple, obvs)

Home, dinner,  early night ahead of Munro adventures, with Dumbarton to ponder on Tuesday...
