Day at a Time

Tulip

I know it's another flower but why not. The tulips have been good this year but they're on the way out now. There are still a few fresh looking ones in the shade, some are completely done and some, such as this, are gracefully exiting. I planted lots in the autumn and I have a good number of returners too. I'd like this one to come back next year.

If I say so myself the garden looks great. No-one could accuse me of having a plan but at this time of year the garden more or less looks after itself. It's more work later when the spring and early summer flowers have finished. I know that just chucking a few seeds around and hoping for the best doesn't work so I'm fortunate to have a couple of months when the garden happily does its own thing.

Last night I decided to ask for a day off childcare. Cameraman is back in Glasgow all day and I don't feel sufficiently up to the mark for a lively five year old today. I don't like to do this and luckily I rarely feel I need to. Today will be another quiet day for me and I hope by the weekend I'll have send this cold packing.
