A day in the life

Admiral

Another lovely morning, clearly with the cup of coffee outdoors in the sun. After breakfast I checked on my Geraniums that has lived outdoors since last Sunday and they all seem to have managed the cold nights.

Yesterday I noticed several rather large butterflies  whizzing about playing with each other, probably in preparation of finding a mate. I haven't seen these before and certainly not in these numbers but I couldn't make out what they were. This morning ont of them landed on my shoe and I managed to get a picture of it before it left. Photo-search in Google revealed that it was an "Admiral" butterfly, Vanessa atalanta. For some reason it's a good year for them.

Before going to work at the theatre this afternoon, I had time to finish the netting for my trellis. Now, it's up to my plants to make use of it. (Extra)
