balkan lassies

I've had a nice quiet day today - made some bread, copied out song words, cleaned the car (which only happens about twice a year as I can always find something more interesting to do).

In the afternoon, I went along to Moniaive where the famous Folk Festival was in full swing. Our choir were singing in the Coach House to a packed house. Afterwards I stayed for a while to hear the Balkan Lassies (in photo) who sing songs from the Balkan countries in the original languages. I think you can tell from their faces how much they enjoy this. Quite a few of them are also in the Cairn Chorus :-)

Luke face timed me on my way home so I stopped the car and we had a nice chat - he was making English Muffins on the stovetop and they looked very impressive.
