Bright and Beautiful

Swans

on the canal :)

Today I went back to where I used to live for an interview at the Council, but as it wasn't until lunchtime, I decided to make the most of it and go early for a wander and then to find a cafe to work on my interview skills!

The best laid plans :(  It was a good job I did go early - as the trains were up the creek.  Instead of getting there around 11, it was 12 before I got there.  Luckily I had an hour and a half, so a quick visit to the canal side and then lunch in M&S (as the old restaurant I would have gone to has sadly gone) - a cheesy jacket potato was simplest...

I got to the Council a good time before my interview thankfully.

What surprised me was that before the interview (and directly in front of the two interviewers which I think is soooo wrong) - I had to complete a test - so difficult when you're being watched - and I couldn't answer the first question of 7 at all....  I hope I got the rest right...

Compared to what it used to be like before pandemic - Newbury was like a ghost town, which was very sad to see.  And where once there was a car park, there are now hundreds of flats next to the council offices and adjacent to the station....

Suffice it to say I'm very glad I moved during pandemic to a place with 'better transport links' to London even if I don't manage to get to other places very often just now...

So having left around 9, I got home at 4.  I'm in a lot of pain with my knee still, so I've taken strong painkillers as soon as I got home and I'm relaxing before a friend picks me up to go to small group tonight!

Tomorrow I've got the job centre late morning, then I really must get this video and everything else done!  I need to do the video on Wednesday or at the latest on Thursday very early on!

I've started preparing for it anyway....
