A day in the life

Workspace

My neighbour L is a woman of handicrafts, mainly sewing and knitting. She thinks that her living space of 20 square metres is a bit small, she'd like a workspace for her sewing and during these wonderful summer days she's come up with this idea for her workspace. She loves it and it gives her peace and inspiration.

I had guests today, my former landlord Bengt, from four years ago, and his wife. I invited them for a the years first rhubarb pie, coffee and a catch-up chat. Unfortunately he was diagnosed cancer a while ago and has undergone treatment. The prognosis is pretty good but he's struggling with the side effects from radiation. Very sad to hear but after talking about it for a while we found our way back into the now and could find patches of light in there, enjoying the pie, the company and the wonderful summer.

I went for a long walk towards the evening and found quite a lot of orchids, they are in they most active period and Öland is famous for its varieties of orchid species. This particular one is called "St Pers nycklar" in Swedish, Orchis mascula in latin.
