Not the best view

Henry was not happy travelling in the back of the car as we headed to Fort William, whining and scrabbling to get forward. It’s not strictly legal I’m sure but we stopped in a lay bye so I could bring him into the front seat to sit on my knee. I did managed to loop the seatbelt through his lead so he was a reasonably secure.

We stopped in Fort William to pick up a few bits and pieces and treated ourselves to a late lunch in a pub we’ve eaten at before.

Finally arrived on site just before 5 and got the caravan positioned. Unhooking it from the car was a bit problematic. It appeared to be stuck onto the hitch. Some other campsite residents appeared to offer advice which was gratefully received but didn’t offer any new insights. We had the same problem a few years ago with a different caravan which was caused by the ceramic plates inside the hitch working their way loose and becoming stick. It took him a couple of hours but eventually we were separated! We did however need to order a new part - an extra £20 to guarantee delivery before the end of the week as we’re in the wilds of the highlands - so we can get hooked up again next Monday.

It turned to rain just after we got the car and caravan separated, hopefully better weather to come.

Backblipped Thursday for Monday.
