Knoydart

An early, rather damp start to ensure we were at the ferry terminal in good time for our trip across to Knoydart at 10.15. It’s a passenger boat only and we had to sit outside on deck as the dogs weren’t allowed in the cabin. It was a slightly damp crossing but we didn’t get too wet really.

Knoydart was surprising as there were many more cars than I had expected for a peninsula with no road access! We met up with Miss PHL and her school party who were taking part in a beach clean.fur a wee while. The children enjoyed meeting Phin and Henry.

We took a walk along the beach to the bunkhouse where they were staying and let the dogs have a swim or two in the sea as it was a little muggy. I’d booked lunch in the Old Forge pub which was recently refurbished thanks to a crowdfunding initiative. Very dog friendly and quick to replace Lr PHL’s local beer which he managed to knock over when grabbing Henry’s lead when he made a bid for escape!

A smaller boat back to Mallaig but a much quicker crossing. Popped in to the supermarket in Mallaig looking for inspiration for dinner but it was pretty sparsely stocked so I only got a couple of extra bits and pieces. I remembered I had sausages in the fridge so dinner was sorted. The weather seems to be turning nicer so fingers crossed for tomorrow.

Backblipped Thursday for Tuesday.
