St. Oswald’s Way Day 1

Set off on our walk today. We are being very ambitious and carrying our stuff in rucksacks. Hard day as we walked 19 miles today but were rewarded with an overnight in a fabulous B&B.
However, my blip shows my walking nightmare! I confess I’m frightened of walking near cows and have rerouted or retraced my steps before now. We went into a field with a lot of young cows who ran away but then regrouped and ran up towards us - we just managed to get out of the field - I was a tad scared to say the least! Then had to walk into another field where an even bigger gang had been watching and ran down to greet us. We both bottled it and walked up the next field hoping to cross somewhere. The farmer’s wife came out when we got to the top of the field and tried to get us to go back and enter the correct field. I made it clear very nicely that I was far too scared to do that. She was not impressed with us, but let us through. With 4 deaths and 65 non fatal injuries last year, I make no apologies for being nervous!
Other than that - good day walking!
