Burgeoning Spring

Quite a bit of rain fell in our absence. Probably a similar amount that we experienced away from home! It must have contributed to the massive growth in our garden, turning it into a jungle. Spent around two hours weeding, and then photographing flowers that have suddenly appeared, from our first sweet pea of the season to buttercups spreading like fury! (They look wonderful as a backdrop to the vermillion geum and the purple allium - also suddenly in flower.) And I discovered a patch of violets near the greenhouse, of which there was no sign before we went away.

My Extra shows a section of patio before I spent 90 minutes weeding it, focusing on dozens of tiny sedges waiting to be pulled up. Phew!
