The Distance Of Your Heart

When I wasn’t looking, I found one of Tracey Emin’s small bird sculptures perched on the edge of a birdbath in Macquarie Place. There are 60 or so hereabouts, in a work called The Distance Of Your Heart. This one is close to the Obelisk of Distances (detail, extra) which measures more literal distances from what the British invented as the centre of Sydney to its regions. I discovered later that Emin chose the site for that reason:
