Because the weather was fine and dry, I opted to go to the allotment rather than the bouldering wall this morning. I did a load of weeding, sowed some beetroot and radish seeds, barrowed one load of wood chippings and talked to three people I hadn't met before.

My onions were covered with fleece after planting to stop the birds pulling them up, but I still had to replant four because the fleece has quite a few rips in it. It was Aldi's, or Lidl's fleece, can't remember which, but obviously a bit lightweight!

After lunch I drove down the A50 for 15 minutes to visit Fi. She's had an operation on her foot two weeks ago and has had to keep weight off it which, needless to say, is driving her mad as she's a runner, walker and climber. Luckily her husband has recently retired and can help out... and walk the dogs. It was warm enough to sit in the garden to drink our tea!
