Wound up in Wexford

DIY

Both my daughters are quite wary of DIY.  They suggest that attempting to do stuff often leads to problems.  But they're quite happy to let W do things - during our latest visit to Sweden he constructed a box to cover some heating controls for Z.

You would think that it was a simple job, therefore, to put up a hook for the small stepladder we keep in the kitchen (essential for the top cupboards).  But W over-engineered it, resulting in the job taking several hours.

But it's done now - along with hooks for a mop and the carpet beater.  We wanted a carpet beater last year, to deal with some dusty rugs and couldn't find one of these old-fashioned ones, so when we saw some on a market stall in Germany, we just had to have one.

We're back to rainy weather so it was indoor jobs again today.  I've invented a new verb - I spent several hours Brennaning more of our CDs today.  I'm half way through the 4th (and last) box.  We are already enjoying our ability to sit in our chairs and switch on a selection of music.
