A look exchanged

A very busy day (hence I'm back-blipping this on Friday, though I did manage to take the photo of the dunnock in the garden on the right day).
Richard was up at 5 a.m. for an early taxi to Manchester airport, en route to Copenhagen, and then the train to Aarhus.  From there he'll go to the small town in Jutland where he did a year's anthropological research back in the late 1990s.  A very old friend of his there died recently, and he'll be staying with her husband, and joining him and other friends when they scatter the ashes. So it'll be a sad visit, but one he really wants to make.
After that, I had a morning with Simone, a quick break for lunch and voting,  and then an afternoon with S again.  This included picking up Frieda from preschool together. All of this went fine, though the walk back from preschool (mostly uphill) included F hitching a ride on the special little platform that attaches to the pushchair. A proper Granny workout. F, however, did help me out by pushing with me in the steepest parts. We got a whole story going about a train with two engines, she being one and me (I...?) the other.
Once I got home, at teatime, I was really tired out. Fortunately there were plenty of leftovers in the fridge.  So after tea I read for a bit... and then was in bed by 7.30. And asleep not long after 8 p.m.
