Memory Making

This was the scene on Elterwater Common this afternoon around 4.00 pm, at a time when the weather forecast on the BBC said there was a chance of a thunderstorm. It didn’t materialise.

I was out on my own having a half hour play with the cameras because Smithers’ back is seizing up after sleeping on a different bed for nearly three weeks and he’s finding walking too painful.

This shot was chosen for my blip because I wanted to capture the emerging ferns which are greening up the fellsides nicely, together with the blue sky, with the white dots of sheep, and the blossom on the gnarled old hawthorn trees, which complete the picture. It will be a lovely memory to retain after we’re back to the pavements of suburbia.

Earlier in the day I had lunch again at Brambles café in Chapel Stile, this time with fellow blipper ‘litl’ after we had to abort our meet up in Ambleside when the bus didn’t materialise. We spent a pleasant hour chatting and comparing notes on Blipfoto and the Lake District before I had to get back to our lodge to check on Smithers and also to join him in a FaceTime which the newly-weds had requested.
